Our Pub
Why our Pub is great
The Fox Cub forms an integral part of Durham Gate in Spennymoor, an exciting mixed use regeneration scheme. Being just seven miles from the historical city of Durham, we’d like to entice you to try our great destination pub. We provide excellent hospitality, superior service and the fullest food and drinks offering. Whilst here you might see our mascot Foxie Fox. Foxie frequents children's parties, causing mischief and putting a smile on everyone's faces. As well as parties, we cater for all kinds of events, from social buffets to business lunches.
We offer a relaxed environment, outdoor seating and a children’s play area. The food menu is extensive, covering favourite pub classics, plus numerous daily specials bringing you flavours from around the world.

Our food is full of flavour, created and served by chefs who love what they do. We believe that great tastes should be at the heart of every meal, and we strive to bring you a menu that reflects the preferences of the whole family. From traditional roasts, to more modern options, healthy eaters to vegetarians, there’s plenty on our menu to satisfy everyone.
All of our ingredients are ethically sourced: like our Red Tractor farm-assured chicken and our responsibly-caught cod.
